MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN COLLISION IN LIBERTYVILLE

Posted on June 20, 2012 in Motorcycle Accident

A 79-year-old man was killed last week when a car collided with his motorcycle in the Libertyville neighborhood.  The accident happened when a 2005 Volkswagon Jetta made a left turn at an intersection and struck the victim’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle as it was proceeding properly through the intersection.  The motorcycle driver, who was wearing all of the appropriate protective gear, was thrown from the bike and suffered fatal injuries.  The driver of the Volkswagan was not injured. At this time the crash remains under investigation and no citations have yet been issued.  Authorities say they have no reason to believe alcohol was a contributing factor in this crash.
