Truck Underride Collisions in Illinois

Truck underride collisions occur when a passenger vehicle fully or partially ends up underneath the rear or side of a semi-tractor trailer. Truck underride collisions are usually very serious and commonly lead to serious injuries or death of the occupants because the most common result of these collisions is the roof being sheared off of the passenger vehicle.

Truck underride collisions can be the result of improper lighting or markings on the back or side of the semi-tractor trailer, and will most commonly occur at night. This is because when proper lighting and/or markings are not present on the trailer, drivers may not be able to see the trailer when it is stopped or makes a wide turn across a lane of traffic, causing passenger vehicles to be forcefully wedged under the truck because they were not able to see the trailer in time to stop and avoid colliding with it.

I always make sure to investigate every possible cause of truck accidents cases, and I have investigators on call that can be at the scene of an accident in a very short time to investigate the scene and determine if an 18-wheeler had the proper lighting and markings to allow passenger vehicles to avoid colliding with it.

Contacting me as soon as possible after a truck accident occurs is crucially important to making sure every possible cause of the collision which harmed you or your loved ones is able to be properly investigated and used to get you the maximum possible compensation.
